Hello

Ryan Warren is a New York City–based director, producer, and storyteller whose work lives at the intersection of emotional truth, bold theatricality, and boundary-defying vision. Whether leading intimate black box revivals or large-scale live events, Ryan’s projects are driven by a deep belief in theatre as a space for reflection, transformation, and human connection.

My Story

Ryan has worked extensively in theatrical management and live entertainment with organizations such as 321 Theatrical Management, Disney Theatrical Group, WWE Live Events, and CBS Radio. His production credits include the Broadway and touring companies of Wicked, Disney’s Frozen, The Lion King, Aladdin, SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical, The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, and the Tony Awards. This foundation in both creative and operational leadership informs his approach to storytelling — blending artistic vision with precise, scalable execution.

For 15 years, Ryan served as a mentor and director with Flying Monkey Productions, a Sacramento-based youth theatre program where he helped guide hundreds of young performers toward artistic and personal growth. His work as an educator and community leader earned him the Youth Inspire Award from the Sacramento Board of Education, as well as recognition from the Sacramento Area Regional Theatre Alliance for artistic excellence in production, directing, and sound design.

Ryan is the founder and artistic director of Second Wind Entertainment, a company dedicated to producing bold, inclusive, and socially resonant stories. Through new works, reimagined revivals, and collaborative development, his work celebrates second chances and self-discovery — inviting artists and audiences to reconnect with their purpose through the power of story.

Off-Broadway Revival (Upcoming 2025)

A bold new reimagining of Bert V. Royal’s darkly comic cult play, Dog Sees God follows the beloved “Peanuts” characters as unruly teenagers — navigating grief, sexuality, addiction, bullying, and the painful process of growing up. This revival infuses the material with a Gen Z lens, integrating original music, projection design, and social media culture to create a raw, relevant, and visually arresting experience.

Developed for its Off-Broadway premiere under the direction of Ryan Warren and Second Wind Entertainment, the production is inspired by their critically acclaimed 2024 Los Angeles staging — which received Stage Scene LA awards for Outstanding Production, Outstanding Direction (Ryan Warren), Breakout Lead Performances (Marcus Wells & Ellee Jo Trowbridge), and Outstanding Ensemble.

“Ryan Warren has taken my crusty, dated, 20-year-old play Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead and breathed new life into a hysterical and soulful new Los Angeles production. The cast is EXTRAORDINARY.”

Playwrights Horizons – NYMF Winner: Best Musical, Best Book, Best Ensemble, Best Actor

A visceral and emotionally charged original musical that tackles teen suicide, mental health, and identity with unflinching honesty. Generation Me explores the unraveling of a high school community after the loss of one of their own — exposing the silent battles beneath the surface of adolescent life.

The production had its world premiere at Folsom’s Harris Center for the Performing Arts, followed by a Los Angeles transfer to the Hudson Theatre. It later had a New York engagement at Playwrights Horizons as part of the New York Musical Festival, where it was honored with Best Musical, Best Book, Best Ensemble, and Best Actor for Milo Manheim.

“Together, director Ryan Warren and actor Milo Manheim craft a performance that is as raw as it is refined — a powerful collaboration that anchors Generation Me with both emotional depth and electric energy.”
